歷史沿格:
The Atlantic class 221 was first introduced in 1900 at the Paris world fair. It was star of the show and was simply the best-proportioned locomotive of its era. The design and mechanics was a break through for the steam era. The class 221 was the first steam locomotive which featured the revolutionary four-cylinder compound technology, making it the most advanced steam locomotive of its time. Also since it was the first four-cylinder compound locomotive it influenced all the other locomotive manufactures. The idea of four compound cylinders was a remarkable achievement and the new technology was a stepping-stone for future steam locomotive development.
